Kevin Landry
Producer - Creative - Macgyver
THIS SECTION IS ALL ABOUT ME
I’ve noticed every producer's website is the same…
Always written by the Producer but in 3rd person so they can list their accomplishments, skills and awards without sounding super egotistical… because there are no egos in film and advertising right?
Something like “Kevin Landry has a history of collaborative blah blah and has worked with BIG CLIENT X, and Hyper Global Mega Agency Y”
Let’s shake that standard approach up a bit. My name is Kevin, I help make films and stills for advertising and my biggest flaws are attention and effort. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not my level of attention, or the amount of effort, but when it’s applied. Frankly, when the pace is relaxed it feels like I am stuck in first gear on a soviet era diesel truck with only one cylinder.
Inversely, (spoiler, this is where I reveal that my biggest flaw is actually my strongest advantage) when the deadlines are heavy, the stakes high, the curveballs fast and the expectations unrealistic, I thrive. Revving in a 6th gear that I wish I could shift into in normal life.
… Like that time we built a full 12x12x12 rotating room in an old logging truck shop in Squamish, with a 4-person team, from scratch, under a month, and on budget. Or that other time our crew of 90 was trapped between a landslide to the North, a broke-down RV to the South on a remote BC mountain road with 140km between us and the 3 blue hour shots left on our list. We got them, they looked great…
I think if you don’t put everything you have into every project and leave it all on the field what’s the point?
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best creatives, clients and agencies to help turn esoteric ideas into reality. Together making work that is much greater than the sum of it’s parts, it would be cool to do that together.
